This apartment on the thirty-sixth floor of one of the three towers in London’s Barbican complex had an existing typical internal layout with a dark corridor and small bedrooms that failed to do justice to the extraordinary views over north and west London. Removing the internal partitions allowed the full length of the apartment to be revealed, broken only by a number of sculptural elements including the curved glass kitchen counter and the study box. Through the arrangement of concealed full-height folding doors the master bedroom suite can be expanded to include the study and the second bathroom when needed. The open floorplan helps to create an ethereal world that is in keeping with the huge views.
